American Ingnorance Does NOT Lead to American Exceptionalism
I'm also wondering why, with a president as intelligent and reasonable as we have, batshitcrazy right-wingers are dictating our social agenda? Any thoughts on this other than it's better to work with our enemies (Republicans/tea-baggers) than fight them? I'm sure that's a valid argument and all, but it was their fault for getting them into the mess for the last 8-10 years wasn't it? For that reason, I propose a witch hunt!
Some wouldn't agree, but it's my belief that these a-holes should be exposed for the silver-tongued, two-timing shysters that they are by all means necessary. Remember that saying "throw the bums out"? Looks to me like we need to become a country of our word again.
Furthermore, ignorance isn't bliss. That's why we are where we are as a nation now. For too long we've allowed people that do not have our (the laity) best interests in mind. They only care about their bottom line and what they believe are the values that should be promoted. Our policies socially and politically should be based in reality and on rational, tried and true solutions that make sense and are not based on an individual or minority inclinations. Everything now is all just a little to subjective in my opinion and not nearly based in fact but mostly fiction and trial and error.
As it stands, this isn't a democratic society.
Do you really feel that your representatives are fighting for your rights? If you think they do, and that they're just like you, I direct you to look at their bank accounts/assets and where the funding's coming from. I guarantee that lobbyists are in these public servants pockets and hearts. Take a look at their views on DADT, marriage equality, wall street/financial reform, war, foreign policy, domestic policy & best of all religion in politics. If after looking at their voting records and personal views on each you still feel these "elite" politicians have your best interests in mind, then I submit that you're more delusional that I gave the American public credit for.
People I encounter, whether it's at the office, the gym or the grocery store want to tout that we're the best country in the world and that we can do now wrong. To those people, I just shake my head and wonder if they've ever read a history book that wasn't immediately slanted from the presses in our favor from the good ole boy publishers based in Texas; you know, that consummate fountain of intelligence and knowledge that consistently threatens to secede from the union.
I'll finish with this for now: American Exceptionalism can't be gained through complacency. If you want change, pull your head out of the sand; you're not and ostrich and you're capable of intelligent thought. Remember, evolution separated us from the rest of the animal kingdom by granting us the ability to rationalize and problem solve. Let's start solving for X.

More Space Junk?
Instead of launching more crap into orbit to "check" on all the junk we've left up there, why dont we find a way to collect the crap and stop polluting beyond our means? Spending almost a billion dollars on a space junk hall monitor, I mean really.
Just saying.
Twamps = Teen Vampires
After reading this, first, let me say this is some BS!
Ok I have a healthy interest in all things supernatural, even the vampire and werewolf myths, but this whole "I'm gonna bite you thing to feel closer to you" is insane and in my opinion another example of our society going to the crapper due to the marketing and sensationalism of this recent movie, TV and fictional book trend.
I can get how some of these teens today find solace in a book about love between "different" beings, because they're feeling lonely and brooding about what they can't have themselves or are misunderstood. Let's face it, we all went through it at some point and most of us still are to some degree. But guess what, we dealt with it and moved on. We didn't create or try to live the fantasies that we read because we were more realistic than these twamps living a "dream". We knew we would be committed for being crazy or even worse, not be taken seriously. I know i probably sound old and conservative by saying that but I like reality and until we find some sort of other humanoid life out there that we're compatible with, I'm calling foul.
Just because you find it hard to live in the real world and deal with things as they come does not mean you have to go off the deep end to pretend you're a vampire and even further, suck someone's blood. That's just nasty.
It really seems like parents not spending enough time with their kids forcing them to grow up by themselves unsupervised and whet do they do, they begging living an unsustainable life. They get everything they desire just to shut them up and not disturb mommy or daddy. This "upbringing" will inevitably lead to a dangerous future where reality and fantasy will not be separated in our kid's minds.
Kids, grow up. Parents...do your damned job!

More "Psycho Talk"
Land of the Lost |
As Mr. Ed Schultz from MSNBC's the Ed Show would say, "more psycho talk". The saddest thing about this is not only that they're just crazy and trying to re-write history, it's that since it is one of the biggest textbook markets the publishers will likely bow to their demands which affects the rest of the civilized and free thinking people in this country. It should not be that when the Texas Board of Education whines about the Christian faith being bashed or in their view, unfairly represented, that we should all have to suffer and not learn the truth about what really happened in our past. I'm all for truthful representation, but these people are hiding their faith behind when they truly harbor very un-Christian feelings about the people of the religion they seek to discredit.
They cry about communism and socialism taking over their lives from the white house, but isn't this one of their governing bodies attempting to control what people learn and think? in my opinion the people behind this are racially motivated to make non-white (by their definition) muslims the villians in an attempt to hang on to the last vestiges of social relavance and power they once had over the thinking of a country who has become more and more dispossessed with radical and controlling religious institutions. You know, the control and influence the founders of this country were running away from in the form of the British Empire?

Pontificating Poisonous Pontiffs
So today, the pope, while visiting the UK (Scotland to be more exact) compared atheism to Nazism. Hmm...interesting.
I'll get to that in a minute.
What's more telling and interesting to me is who he surrounds himself with. A self professed peace bringer is flanked by one of his senior aides, Cardinal Walter Kasper, who spoke these demeaning and thinly veiled racist words in an interview with a German magazine:
"England today is a secularised, pluralistic country. When you land at Heathrow Airport, you sometimes think you'd landed in a Third World country."This reminds me of a conversation I heard about at my gym last week (I'm sad I missed, but heard about) when a guy asked where FIU (Florida International University) was located. He was answered that it was on the east coast somewhere in Miami. To which our resident "crazy" man (we really think this man needs help) responds, and I'm paraphrasing, that "that sounds right since it's more 'internantional over there'. A friend of mine reminded him that he may want to be more careful and sensitive with his choice of words telling him his statement was "borderline racist". Crazy man (aka Ree Ree) shoots back "I'm not a racist I'm just a redneck"
What does that even mean? That you can say that and are absolved of it because you don't know any better? Or better yet, that since you think only other white people are listening that you can say it because you think they're on your side.
You may be asking why I'm telling this story? It's because there's a huge group of people out there who subscribe to this thinking. I'm not saying they need to change who they are, I'm just saying they need to man up and really say what's on their mind and stop pussyfooting around how they really feel about non-white people who are increasing in numbers. I get it, you're scared because society is evolving and you're starting to feel like and endangered species. Problem is we're all increasingly not caring about color but the actual person and their own merits.
The once majority and quickly becoming the minority have a problem with this because they feel like their world is being taken from them. well guess what folks? I have news for you...it was never yours to claim. whether it's London or Miami or whether your people are indigenous to the area or not, EVERYONE, no matter what race color or creed, has a right to be there and live without fear of discrimination or persecution because they don't happen to look like you. If you happen to believe in a god you'll have to agree that "it" created the world and the people in it to co-exist, not to divide and fracture the landscape for a groups personal gain.
I'll finish by commenting the pope's discussion about atheism with some of the same advice for him.
First, leave atheists alone. Just because they haven't drank the kool-aid, bow down to invisible people in the sky and don't happen to believe what you do, doesn't make them bad people and they certainly shouldn't be judged on the previous actions of other supposed atheists. It's not your place to force any one religion or view on these people.
Secondly, we all know about your involvement in questionable activities and the racket you've got going on with your palatial living, fear mongering and divisive messages. Give it a rest. You can't blame anyone but yourself and the empire the catholic church has built on the backs of faithful believers. It was destined to fall and get back to its roots. Mother Theresa live a frugal and service filled life, why can't you and the rest of your cronies?
Last bit of advice, admit your guilt now and ask for forgiveness if you ever want to have a chance at salvation here on earth or in whatever heaven you believe you'll be granted access to.
Jesus wasn't a Facebook friend collector, so what are you trying to be? Answer: You and the other power brokers of religion want the power to control the masses if only to squelch the alternative views of the minority but more likely to hide your misdeeds and severe un-christian-like behavior.

Tricksy Subsidies?
Drain-O anyone? |
Of all the whining I've been hearing about the government having to much to do with the common person's life, not often do you hear about where your tax dollars are really going. This story is a case that if looked at close enough should merit further investigation as to where and how our money is actually being spent. Are all of those billions of dolllars that we've spent over the years in the name of defense actually going to R&D of Pentagon ready receivables? Or, in actuality, are we playing the shell game and subsidizing a private company's civilian division? Seems a little shifty and opaque to me. i want to see the checkbook register on this one.
This is what happens when industry gets too big to fail. Who's getting richer and benefiting? Yeah, not you or me. You know, the little guys.
Mr. Adams was right!
“America goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. She will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benign' sympathy of her example. She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom. The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force. She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit.”
—John Quincy Adams, US House, 7/4/1821

Hey, cranky old white people! Yeah I’m talking to you. Take a look at those other young and cranky old white people, and the puppets they string along in office that YOU put in the congress. They’re the ones who are screwing you over royally with their self interested votes.

Christian is to be Christ-like right?
Seems to me that the Catholic Church truly is about power grabbing, money and division of the human race.
One more reason I'm happy i realized at a young age that organized religion is largely hypocritical and corrupt.

More Stupid Obama jokes
He is very excited; all his life he's had a secret wish & longed to meet the Prophet Mohammed.
Having arrived at the Gates of Heaven, Barack meets a man with a beard. 'Are you Mohammed?' he asks....
'No, my son. I am Peter. Mohammed is higher up.' Peter then points to a ladder that rises into the clouds.
Delighted that Mohammed should be higher than Peter, Obama climbs the ladder in great strides, climbs through the clouds coming to a room where he meets another bearded man. He asks again, 'Are you Mohammed?'
'No, I am Moses. Mohammed is higher still.'
Exhausted, but with a heart full of joy he climbs the ladder; yet again, he discovers an even larger room where he meets another man with a beard.
Full of hope, he asks again, 'Are you Mohammed?'
'No, I am Jesus... You will find Mohammed higher up.'
Mohammed higher than Jesus! Man! Obama can hardly contain his delight and climbs and climbs, ever higher.
Once again, he reaches a larger room where he meets a man with a beard and repeats his question: 'Are you Mohammed?' he gasps as he is, by now, otally out of breath from all his climbing.
'No, my son.... I am Almighty God. But you look exhausted. Would you like a cup of coffee..?'
'Yes! Please, my Lord,' Obama exclaims.
God looks behind him, claps his hands and yells out: 'Hey Mohammed-- two coffees!'
Keep your trust in God;
Your government has failed you miserably.

Hollow Apologies
href="http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2010/03/22/2010-03-22_house_members_protect_baby_killer_heckler_who_slammed_rep_bart_stupak_over_abort.html
Ok, so he apologized. But I have a sneaking suspicion it was only because he was going to get told on and the punishment would have been worse.
I guess it's better to ask for forgiveness that to crawl back under your rock and deny it, but hey, I'm sorry, these people MORESO than the celebrities we exalt need to be held accountable for their antics. Yelling "baby killer" on the House floor? Talk about politically incorrect. What is this, a sports event complete with hecklers? If you're going to heckle, man-up and say "Yeah it was me. Now what?" Do it like they did in the old days. when you disrespected someone you did it to their face and there were consequences; duels, penalties or even a good ole fashioned debate of the facts. This numbnut instead chose to yell and hide only to emerge later at the prodding I'm sure of his colleagues. The point is, in this day and age where this is seen as obscene and uncouth, it's ok if you apologize. Um no. If you want to be the moral and professional pillar you pretend to be, then be it. You can't have your cake and eat it too buddy.
If I have to be held accountable by the rules and decorum that govern society and our nation at large, then all must watch their tongues and be held accountable.
Repulsed huh?
So today Sen. John McCain (aka the loser) from the last, and I use this term loosely, "democratic" election, has cried foul and said that he's "repulsed by all this euphoria going on".
Hmm, interesting. So when you have a majority, you're supposed to get what you want, right? That's the whole point of voting and majority ruling like we've always been taught, right? If that's all true, (NOT) then why is the right crying about a little celebration for the Dems getting what they set out to do and wanted? If it were you guys celebrating how you got a bill passed that allowed the carrying of handguns anytime and anywhere, you'd DEFINITELY be jumping for joy. I'll tell ya why they're pissy right now. It's because first, it wasn't their idea, second, it's gonna hurt their bottom line, and third, there's always and I mean ALWAYS a double standard when it comes to these two parties. When one is in power, it's not ok for the other to do anything without checking with the other. Furthermore, and I'm gonna just throw this blanket statement out here, the Right is usually a little more selfish. The Left definitely can be too, but when it comes to social policies the Right is basically touting the a survival of the fittest philosophy. Kinda ironic, how Darwin's natural selection theory is suitable when it fits them huh?
Tell me how this bill is going to hurt us more than the resolution you signed to get us into our current conflicts? Get over it John. You lost in 08" and ya lost again here in 10' with the rest of the selfish boneheads.

FOXNews.com - I Was Am-Bushed On MSNBC Over Iraq
Through all of his "fact" rattling, Mr. Blakeman still has not provided any concrete proof in the form of text that we can search for by exact name and location of his supposed facts. If you're going to cry foul, at least cry it with recorded paper in hand. And if you don't think politics is about "manipulation" then you're lying to yourself. The very nature of politics is to manipulate/LIE to get what you want, whether it's money for your state/district or a kingmaker of a war. I'm sure I don't have to educate you on that subject on either side of the aisle sir. | |

Kids
So I'm on my way back from Tampa this morning and what do I see? One of those damned grocery-getters, a.k.a. a Minivan, with that stupid sticker indicating how many frickin kids, pets and whatever else you have the gall to advertise on your rear window. I mean come on, is this really necessary? Does anyone, other than you, care to have the knowledge of your reproductivity and pet accumulation practices? Short answer, NO!
This brings me to another point that's extremely relevant in the discussion of why the census and birth control (human and animal) are necessary; to keep track of the, as I call them, "Squanderers of Fortune". These are the people who usually bitch about abortion being wrong and immoral yet they won't attempt to adopt an already starving child somewhere else in the world because of their vanity veiled with the excuse of " I want my family name to be carried on". Ok, ok, I'll grant you the argument that it's human nature for us to be wired to spread the seed of your loins, but in a world where we're supposed to be evolved and not let our carnal and primitive wiring overrun our more sophisticated sensibilities, this smacks of just plain selfishness. If you want to be a pillar of morality, go to an orphanage and adopt those who were abandoned and give them a loving home. I bet you 9 times out of 10 that kid is going to grow up and pay it forward because he or she was given that same chance.
I know I kind of got of the original subject, but that needed to be said. I find this pactice of spawning unnecessarily another hidden face of our social conditioning that is both perpetuating and repugnant.
Does everyone have a right to take more than what they're owed for what they put in? I don't think anyone would agree with that statement and say yes. That being the case, why is it that people do it everyday? For a society that professes to separate itself from the primates with the defining diffeence found in our ability to "intellectually reason", why is it that we can't seem to follow a basic thought process and keep our legs closed to avoid further erosion and watering-down of the human race? I mean it's to the point where we're breeding for breedings sake. Ande let me tell ya, we aren't being selective enough with the gene pool. Not everyone can be a rocket scientist, but can we honestly say we need more sub-mediocrity? I'd say from the look of our socio-econo-political sphere that we have enough synapsss gridlock.
So yes I'll admit that I want these serial breeders tracked, called out and shamed for their taxing of our sybiotic balance with the planetary and man-made resources that we produce from the former. If I had my way we'd live in a society where you're not permitted to have more than two children. Oh wait, didn't China already do that? Umm, yeah (admittedly late though).
Screw the whiners who'll say "you can't take my right away to procreate!" To those selfish ones, I propose a higher child tax and steeper penalties for every one you spit out after the second.

Role Models
PARENTS! yeah you over there, I'm talking to you. STOP PUTTING SO MUCH FAITH IN OTHER PEOPLE TO RAISE YOUR CHILDREN. You need to be your child's role model, and stop shirking your duty by sticking your kid in front of a TV and saying " You can be just like him or her when you grow up." More times than not, no they can't and no they shouldn't. It is not the responsibility of celebrities to be wholesome and faultless. They have a job just like you and me and that's all they can be judged on; if they do it well or not. If what they're portraying in their personal lives is not what you want in your life and for your family, get off your duff and instill it yourself. The way we exalt these human beings to the level of demigod continually illustrates a weakness in our society to take care and do right by our own.
What do you expect from these people? Just because they're good at their career, like countless other people, does not mean that they cannot make mistakes or be who they want to be because their contract guarantees them millions. THEY'RE HUMAN just like us; we're all fallible. If that contract ha s decency clause then that's on them for signing something they know they won't be able to uphold and they should have negotiated better.
This is the same gripe I have with politics and religion. Just because I don't happen to believe in what you do does not make me less human, evil or wrong. It just means I have a different point of view of how I want to live my life. If I want to go and make the statement that M&M's are the most delicious candy ever and you dispute it then so be it. Am I hurting anyone? If an actor likes to smoke weed and does it in his own personal time out of the limelight, or for that matter, in it, that's his business. Is he hurting you or stunting your lifestyle? If your answer is yes, then you really need to get a life and take that stick out of your rear. The world does not revolve around you or anyone in a perceived "position of power". There are no bad people; there are choices. If you think M&M's or weed are bad then you're entitled, but don't start trying to spew your holier than though crap at other people who disagree. It's not your place to decide what's moral for the masses. Where is it written that we all have to conform to a specific social policy; a societal norm? If that was the case we wouldn't have any creativity in this world. Gone with art, gone with sports, gone with all innovation. Gotta break a few eggs to make the cake people. Being the same will get us nowhere fast.
Now as for Tiger...really you all need to get over it. This is between him and his family, not you and yours. If anything you should take this event in our finger pointing media hungry society to take a look at yourself. You don't have the right to judge him for his choices and for that matter neither does his wife in my opinion; but that's another story. My point is, he made his choices. He's dealing with the fallout of his choices. Whether he goes back to playing the "conform to society game" is strictly up to him.
You are who you are. If you're a man-whore who likes something different every day or week the fess up to it and spare everybody who you may encounter the time of trying to fix you or getting their heart broken because you lied to protect them from who you really are. If you have a saviour complex (I used to have one myself), and it smells like something ain't right...RUN! You have yourself to worry about and should only be around people who can see you for who you are and will respect you. relationships should be mutual is what I'm trying to say.
I'll close by saying the following:
If you see things you don't like going on in your own space, get a broom and sweep them
away. Until then, STAY OUT OF OTHER FOLKS' BUSINESS!

Evolved
New job, new home, new life, new interests...just a new me.So it's been awhile since I've sat down at my computer to talk about what's been going on in the world around me. During the hiatus from my version of blogging, I've grown up a lot (some of it was BUNCH of whining I know, as evidenced by the archives). Life is what you make of it, and I'm trying not waste anymore of it.
