NPT: Enforceable?

And here I though as a superpower we were supposed to lead by example. Sure Iran may be in violation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty by not spilling their guts and agreeing to lopsided deals, but can we expect them to when we won't begin to disarm under the those same rules?
